Hello Buggs, Well I went with the zt3100 on my hustler, currently at 186 hr with a change on oil and filter (cost was over 160$ in material labour on top) but bad experience with the JD units in the past with the Tuff Torq units in the area.I'm looking at the gravely pro turn 160 and ferris 700is that both have the Dual Hydro-Gear ZT-3400 transaxles with 7" mounted cooling fans. Versus a grasshopper 226v with Smooth H1 hydrostatic pump and wheel motor drive system with cooling fans and 7 micron absolute filter. And a scag tiger cat with Dual Pumps; 10cc displacement, Hydro-Gear.May 10, 2010 · The 3400 is larger in shaft size and in displacement. and is rated full commercial. My Gravely guy, who is technically proficient, told me that the the 2800 has stamped gears, and the 3100 and up have cut gears, which theoretically should make them more rugged.
